April & May Flyer

Here is the new flyer! Looking forward to the next couple meetings! As I have posted on facebook we are working on a summer resource list, if you have any awesome summer ideas, know of programs or camps or have fun things you do at home send them our way! We would love the ideas!

Also, if you haven't signed up for our newsletter yet there is a link on the right hand side of the blog. Our new newsletter goes out April 2nd!

Davis County-Struggling!

Our Davis County meeting is STRUGGLING, big time. We know there is a need for the group in this area ( i live in Davis County) but we don't seem to be getting a big response.

Jen and I really want the Davis County group to continue-if it is needed. We are committed to doing our April & May groups, we will decide on keeping the group going from there depending on our numbers.

If you want the Davis County group to stay, come & spread the word!! We really want this to be a great resource for the Davis/Weber area! We know you are out there!

Just wanted to send out a BIG thank you to Amy & Roz from the Utah Parent Center, for being so willing to come to our group and talk about IEPs! Our Salt Lake group was GREAT and I hope that those who were able to attend fell like they are armed with a little more information! We are looking forward to our Davis County group this coming Wednesday & know that it will be just as informative!

Another big THANK YOU to Chrissy from Macaroni Kids (Layton-Farmington) for her willingness to help, contact/information she has sent and for helping spread the word on our group! We look forward to tapping into your resources and are grateful!

Last... but definitely NOT least, we want to say thanks to those who attend our group! The support & ideas we have gotten from you all has been INVALUABLE!

Here is a quick run down of the next few months!

March- Open topic (aka-venting :P) Come and share your ups and downs!

April - Summer programs - we will be providing resources on local summer programs that accommodate children with special needs.

May- Parenting a difficult child- we are working on a guest speaker and both feel like this will be a great group!

After May I know we are in summer season and things get a little crazy. We are going to play the summer groups by ear. What do you all think? Is it to crazy during the summer to be able to make it? or with summer break are you ready to pull out your hair & need somewhere to vent? Let us know!

February Groups

We are super excited about our groups this month! We have Parent Consultants coming to ask questions about the IEP process.

We are asking if you will please RSVP to the group are attending, we will be bringing IEP materials for everyone and need to make sure we have enough.

We also want to remind everyone that there will probably be a lot of questions, please make sure you are considerate of others attending the group and let everyone have a chance. If you have a specific question feel free to email it to us and we can forward it to the Parent Consultants before the meeting.

Davis County Meeting Issues

As you may have seen of Facebook or were made aware of on DBH's door the Davis County Meeting was cancelled. I found out today that the women that was helping us by keeping the building open after hours is no longer working there.... I was told this news at 3pm today. yeash.

Anyway, we sincerely apologize if this inconvenienced anyone.

If you would like the information we were going to hand out at this months group, send us an email and we will email you copies.

As of now we are still planning on keeping our February Meeting the same, & working on getting a new location set up... even if it is a temporary one.
